08.16

A laboratory instrument for determining the fine-fraction content of soil, available as a table or wall model.
This laboratory device determines the content of the fine fraction in soil, based on the difference in sedimentation speed between small and large soil particles.
Method
Carbonates, organic substances and iron oxide are first removed. The sample is then suspended in water and pipetted at different times and depths according to Stokes' Law. The pipetted suspension is condensed, dried and weighed to determine the mass ratio of the fraction.
Key Features
Table Model (08.16.SA) / Wall Model (08.16.SB)
The table model is an autonomous unit that can be placed on a laboratory bench. The wall model is mounted on a wall, allowing multiple units to be connected for researching samples in separate tanks.
