An Edelman Clay-type auger for cohesive soils. Narrow blades encounter little resistance on entry into the ground.
Clayey soils can be highly cohesive. This Clay-type auger's blades are kept narrow, so they meet little resistance. Drilling can then be done with minimal effort, producing an almost undisturbed sample. Wider blades would add friction and make removing soil from the auger more difficult.
The Edelman auger's characteristic design ensures minimal friction on both entry and extraction, meaning less physical effort. For the best result, choose the auger type that matches the soil type.
After use, augers should be air-dried and decontaminated with soap. Rust can develop naturally on these tools — see the product brochure for details.
