CPT Cone Calibration (ISO 22476-1:2022)

The 2022 revision of the ISO 22476-1 standard introduced significant changes to the collection and use of CPT data. Chief among these is a completely renewed set of requirements for laboratory cone calibration, along with a comprehensive uncertainty budget that explicitly addresses temperature effects, bending effects and sensor stability.

Royal Eijkelkamp has established a new calibration facility designed to the latest standard, with advanced automation and quality control capability. This allows us to offer calibration in compliance with the current standard, including the new Class 0 penetrometer class, which has lower uncertainty than even the highest class under the previous standard.

When used together with GeoExplorer 3, the first data acquisition software able to capture zero readings in compliance with the new standard, CPT users now have access to genuinely compliant hardware and software.
